I'm sorry but I don't understand what's wrong. Cairo-Dock and its plug-
ins doesn't depend of any libnotification*

Which packages exactly? If you don't remember exactly, you can check in
/var/log/aptitude or /var/log/apt/ (or by using the software-center) in order
to know which packages you've installed or removed.
