I tried a lot to reproduce the bug on oneiric, but did not succeed anymore. Maybe there was already a fix commited in linux-3.0.
In contrast to the original submitter, I was never able to reliably trigger the problem, it happened only every now and then. This could mean, that we still might have had different problems, and the problem of the submitter is not yet solved in linux-3.0. It is just that the symptoms are identical (timeout while waiting for a slot) and we both had problems with USB 3.0 HDDs. Considering that, I want to withdraw my "veto" to set the bug status to incomplete, since I'm not personally affected anymore.
