** Description changed: It`s a standard phenomenon since I upgraded to Karmic (and now Lucid) and ext4, that I get some corrupted photographs!! If I copy 100 photos from my camera or card reader, definitely the 3-4 of them will be corrupted. You can still watch the photographs, but a part of the photo has weird colors or it is cut or something similar, that it looks like only some bytes are changing and not the whole photo is destroyed.. I also have many mismatched md5sum's when downloading files (or apt-get-ing) that I guess this problem is related. It is just the photographs that the problem is directly visible! - Check the attached zip file to see the kind of photo corruption I - mentioned. + Check the attached zip file to see the kind of photo corruption I mentioned. + --- + AlsaDevices: + total 0 + crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 5 2011-06-16 16:39 controlC1 + crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 4 2011-06-16 16:39 midiC1D0 + crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 3 2011-06-16 16:39 seq + crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 2 2011-06-16 16:39 timer + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. + AplayDevices: + aplay: device_list:244: snd_ctl_pcm_next_device + **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + arecord: device_list:244: snd_ctl_pcm_next_device + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/snd/controlC1', '/dev/snd/midiC1D0', '/dev/snd/seq', '/dev/snd/timer', '/dev/sequencer2', '/dev/sequencer'] failed with exit code 1: + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + Card1.Amixer.info: + Card hw:1 'UART'/'MPU-401 UART at 0x330, irq 10' + Mixer name : '' + Components : '' + Controls : 0 + Simple ctrls : 0 + Card1.Amixer.values: + + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=234adc75-abd0-4119-a5c0-03582b94cf50 + InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100427.1) + IwConfig: + lo no wireless extensions. + + eth0 no wireless extensions. + + eth1 no wireless extensions. + Lsusb: + Bus 002 Device 002: ID 045e:0040 Microsoft Corp.
