Hi Harry, thanks for picking this up. And sorry for comments #3 and #4, I'm not really familiar with Apport and obviously did something strange. And I'm not sure if I did something strange too when it uploaded the other batch of files, so sorry for spamming :)
In addition to the files uploaded by apport, I'm attaching some extracted parts of my syslog from today's failed attempt to bring up unity. GPU lockup and Call Trace at the bottom of that file. I'm not using the propietary drivers for my graphics card btw.
