What exactly is the issue for system-config-printer (System >
Administration > Printing), can you add the printer? The color
management profiles/cms are not included into the splix package, but
these are only needed for better results and should not prevent you from
printing (also try grayscale mode). If it prevents you from printing
please add your cups error log after trying to print as described here:

Which version of the splix package is installed on your system? Please run the
following command on a terminal to give us this and additional information:
apport-collect -p cups 263802
