Public bug reported: Will watch at the next kernel update if it isn't built at all - or just for the wrong kernel.
Description of the oroblem: After the last 3 kernel updates the wifi of my netbook did no more work. Since modprobe wl did tell me that there is no such module. The solution was easy, though: sudo dpkg-reconfigure bcmwl-kernel-source and afterwards a reboot or a sudo modprobe wl sudo service network-manager restart ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: bcmwl-kernel-source 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-7.8-generic-pae 3.0.0 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-7-generic-pae i686 NonfreeKernelModules: wl Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Jul 26 20:44:41 2011 EcryptfsInUse: Yes ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=en_US:en LC_TIME=de_DE.UTF-8 SourcePackage: bcmwl UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: bcmwl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 oneiric unity-2d -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816594 Title: bcmwl isn't built for the new kernel on kernel update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/816594/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
