It looks to me like the issue here is that the Mozilla team in the past was unwilling to implement anything that wasn't cross platform. I haven't worked with GTK myself but it looks like the new version 3.0 contains features that may just finally resolve this issue.
See: http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/3.0/GtkAppChooser.html and http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/3.0/GtkAppChooserDialog.html Now the problem is convincing the Mozilla to upgrade to the new API (I would expect this to be the big challenge here) and use this new feature. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/18995 Title: [MASTER] "Open With" dialog not user-friendly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/18995/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
