Did try a plain vanilla kernel from: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline My Ubuntu kernel recognizes the touchpad as a touchpad but leaves it unconfigurable and with a tapping feature that is too sensitive for me. The plain vanilla kernel recognizes the touchpad as a generic PS/2 Mouse but lets it come up with a less sensitive tap and enabled edge scrolling. I personally think plain vanilla is more usable for now.
