Yep this is conformed, there is definitely a prob with sis chipset/motherboards. i installed XUBUNTU on my friends old system and my experience was similar to everyones else. I tried almost evry possible change i could make to xorg.conf shifted to /dev/input/mice and /dev/input/mouse1 ,mouse2 etc etc.
