Your idea with brcm80211 is right: This module *did* work about 3 months ago for me - but has ceased to work for me since then-
Today there was an update of the kernel my system is currently running. Don't know if a mere update of an already installed kernel should trigger a rebuilt of the bcmwl kernel module, but it didn't. Will attach the log file from this to the current comment. ** Attachment added: "dist-upgrade.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/816594/+attachment/2243261/+files/dist-upgrade.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816594 Title: bcmwl isn't built for the new kernel on kernel update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/816594/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
