Perhaps you could re-attach the output of: sudo lshw -C display; lsb_release -a from the non-working machine. But according to the xorg files, we have some interesting kernels in use: 2.6.24-29-xen : no unity 2.6.24-27-server : unity Is that your understanding? However, when I upgraded Karmic to V11.04 via the web I was told that my hardware did not support Unity and gave me Gnome desktop. How come one version of Natty lets me run Unity where- as the upgraded version wont and both disks on the same pc?
