@Ricardo sorry to have been so long to respond, I thought I would have had some signal from launchpad in any case, and got none..
It should work with a proper xorg.conf, maybe that yours had a mistake in it ? I generated mine using nvidia-config (you need to have nvidia driver), it is as follows : # nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig # nvidia-xconfig: version 270.41.19 (buildmeis...@swio-display-x86-rhel47-07.nvidia.com) Mon May 16 23:52:12 PDT 2011 # nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings # nvidia-settings: version 270.29 (buildd@allspice) Fri Feb 25 14:42:07 UTC 2011 Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Default Layout" Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0 InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard" InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" EndSection Section "InputDevice" # generated from default Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "kbd" EndSection Section "InputDevice" # generated from default Identifier "Mouse0" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "auto" Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection Section "Monitor" # HorizSync source: edid, VertRefresh source: edid Identifier "Monitor0" VendorName "Unknown" ModelName "AUO" HorizSync 30.0 - 75.0 VertRefresh 60.0 Option "DPMS" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Device0" Driver "nvidia" VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation" BoardName "GeForce GTX 460M" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Device0" Monitor "Monitor0" DefaultDepth 24 Option "metamodes" "1920x1080 +0+0" Option "NoLogo" "True" Option "RegistryDwords" "EnableBrightnessControl=1" SubSection "Display" Depth 24 EndSubSection EndSection /// it works perfectly as regards brightness with this. For volume hotkeys, I installed asus-kbd-backlight from this ppa : https://launchpad.net/~flozz/+archive/flozz/+build/2018613 It works very well for volume and screen brightness, but you'll need a patched kernel to make the keyboard brightness work (I forgot where I got it, have a look on google ?) Music controls do not work however (I'm sure it's possible, but I actually prefer doing it with the mouse on the volume icon :-) ) No news about usb3 and sd-card reader though, maybe with newer kernels or 11.10 ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/787855 Title: SD Card Reader not working on ASUS G53SW To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/787855/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
