(In reply to comment #142) The memory cache should be large enough now after bug 629247 removed the 4MB limit, but it's still a problem with caching of IMAP parts not working properly. I've seen 0-size attachments showing up on the 5.0 branch resembling on-demand attachments, with a "busy" indication in the status bar when viewing such a message suggesting an incomplete download of the MIME part. It's not clear to me if that's part of bug 629738 or a new problem now, somewhat hard to reproduce.
(In reply to comment #143) Attachments should only be downloaded in offline mode if they haven't been synchronized yet.
