Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
I just tried to upgrade from Edgy to Feisty. After downloading the various packages, I was confronted by a dialog saying "Configuring mdadm" and asking me to state the "MD arrays needed for the root filesystem". The default, which I stuck with, was "all", though from the Help button on the dialog I got the impression I shouldn't have been asked because I don't have a RAID array. After this, I was told: ------------------------------- Could not install the upgrades. The upgrade aborts now. Your system could be in an unusable state. A recovery will run now (dpkg --configure -a). Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport. installArchives() failed ------------------------------ I had to go away - when I came back later and switched my computer on I was told 717 updates were available, but not all could be installed and that I should run a distribution upgrade to install as many as possible. "This can be caused by an uncompleted upgrade, unofficial software packages or by running a development version." Thanks for any help the Ubuntu team can provide, James McLaughlin. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Could not install Feisty upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111054 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
