Please sync ekg 1:1.8~rc2-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
We can sync the package as ubuntu change has been incorporated in debian.

* [7ba5778] Make the Makefiles support separate build directories.
