OK - for some reason, nv can recognize my screen a lot better now than when I upgraded to herd 5. WIth the sync lines HASHED I get lots of resolutions (plus the undesireable "virtual screen size" of 1280x1024) In System -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution with NO sync values, my choices are these: 1280x1024 1024x768 800x600 600x480 1280x960 1280x800 1280 x768 1152x768 832x624
