Public bug reported:

When I save a normal text file (no images at all) in docx format, it
loses all formatting when the file is reopened.  When Mac's try to open
the file, they get the error "illegal XML format" and are unable to open
the document.

I can send a document if you need one, but it's fairly straight forward.
