In regards to my previous message, I hadn't seen that code proposals have already been made (e.g. chipaca's branch as seen at the top, about the file sync daemon). I've also linked a branch of mine to this bug, related to the Ubuntu One SSO client itself. Merging both these branches will be required in order to globally support HTTPS proxies in Ubuntu One.
