Public bug reported: iwlagn (running on Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, REV=0x4) became very unstable after upgrade from linux-image-2.6.38-11-generic-pae 2.6.38-11.47 to 2.6.38-11.48
Reverting to 2.6.38.10.25 solves the issue. I am pretty sure regression came from 47->48, but since 2.6.38-11.47 is no more available, I am can't be 100% sure. Usually driver starts hanging for few seconds/minutes and later stops working at all (NetworkManager looses it) Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.047756] cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.347149] cfg80211: World regulatory domain updated: Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.347153] cfg80211: (start_freq - end_freq @ bandwidth), (max_antenna_gain, max_eirp) Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.347157] cfg80211: (2402000 KHz - 2472000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (300 mBi, 2000 mBm) Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.347160] cfg80211: (2457000 KHz - 2482000 KHz @ 20000 KHz), (300 mBi, 2000 mBm) Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.347163] cfg80211: (2474000 KHz - 2494000 KHz @ 20000 KHz), (300 mBi, 2000 mBm) Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.347166] cfg80211: (5170000 KHz - 5250000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (300 mBi, 2000 mBm) Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.347169] cfg80211: (5735000 KHz - 5835000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (300 mBi, 2000 mBm) Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.364451] iwlagn: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link AGN driver for Linux, in-tree: Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.364454] iwlagn: Copyright(c) 2003-2010 Intel Corporation Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.368366] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17 Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.368380] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.368417] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Detected Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, REV=0x4 Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.408052] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: device EEPROM VER=0x36, CALIB=0x5 Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.408059] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Device SKU: 0Xb Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.408112] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Tunable channels: 13 802.11bg, 19 802.11a channels Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.408233] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: irq 49 for MSI/MSI-X Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.496435] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: loaded firmware version 228.61.2.24 Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.496765] __alloc_pages_slowpath: 6 callbacks suppressed Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.496768] firmware/iwlwif: page allocation failure. order:5, mode:0x80d0 Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.496772] Pid: 13710, comm: firmware/iwlwif Tainted: G C 2.6.38-11-generic-pae #48-Ubuntu Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.496775] Call Trace: Aug 13 08:16:16 loopsan kernel: [10957.496784] [<c10f2792>] ?
