Feel free to ask me (or #debian-ubuntu generally) for sponsorship, any
time. The best way to get upload privileges is to maintain your packages
well so your sponsors get tired of sponsoring uploads that didn't need
checking.

I'm afraid I don't use it enough to want co-maintainership (I have a
screen setup I'm pretty happy with)

It's not a blocker, but it's certainly preferable. Saying "it
successfully transitioned to testing (i.e. a week with nobody finding rc
bugs)" is a good statement of stability.
