*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 530443 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/530443
This looks very similar to the following: http://us.generation- nt.com/bug-462885-postrm-fails-vboxusers-group-not-system-group- help-167741211.html It looks like somehow you managed to get the wireshark group as a user group rather than a system group. Removing the wireshark group manually should allow the package purge to finish normally. The post-removal script ought to handle this safely, but this isn't something that will show up unless you've been playing with groups on your machine already. I'll reproduce and then check upstream next time I have a few minutes to spare (probably this weekend). --- Evan Huus Ubuntu Bug Squad Volunteer https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/831778 Title: package wireshark-common 1.4.6-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 128 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wireshark/+bug/831778/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
