Have you tried the hack on page 2 of the thread ?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Code:

apt-get install yaird
sudo cp /boot/initrd.img-2.6.20-15-386 /boot/initrd.img-2.6.20-15-386.bk
sudo yaird -o /boot/initrd.img-2.6.20-15-386

Then reboot!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't have tried the hacks from these guys, because when I reinstalled
Feysty on primary partition /dev/hda/ and loaded Grub entirely in the
bootsector of this partition, my computer booted succesfuly.

I also loved Ubuntu since 5.04 and would not to leave it.

Thanks for the link of confirmed bug.

English is very hard, really! Portuguese and Spanish were much more
easy for our communication. But this is unacceptable by the rules of
this forum, i think!
