Looking at the log files on the server I actually see a number of non- fatal mount.nfs4 crashes during the day (see attachment).
The actual crashes seem to be related to nfsd if I interpret the output from /var/log/messages (excerpt attached) correctly. I can't match the crashes to any specific events. sar doesn't show any specific periods of high load (however small burst of very high load may not get logged) Unfortunately I'm way out of my league here trying to figure out what is actually going on. cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.32-32-generic (buildd@allspice) (gcc version 4.4.3 (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) ) #62-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 20 21:52:38 UTC 2011 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/790220 Title: Kernel panic from nfsd on lightly loaded system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/790220/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
