foomatic-filters can never ever break access to the USB ports. It does not touch them at all. foomatic-filters does nothing more than calling Ghostscript to convert PostScript or PDF input into the printer's native language. If the printer is USB-connected, CUPS takes care to send the data to the USB.
Please follow the instructions in the section "USB printer" on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems. If not only printers but also other USB devices are not accessible any more, see also https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures for further instructions. ** Package changed: foomatic-filters (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/832285 Title: latest update makes usb ports unrecognizable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/832285/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
