It's like if Gnome want to waste everything this project had built... Like the decision you have done for unity instead of gnome shell, I think gnome choose the bad way.
I don't know how gnome designers and devs can use this ! If keyboard manufacturers have placed a 'Del' key, it is not for show, or for fun...
