Did this work with a previous version of Ubuntu? You mention this has
been the case for a while, how long? Do you remember any software event
around when you lost the ability to unzip? Did this happen before your
upgrade to oneiric (11.04) about a week ago?
Are you able to extract different file types, such as tar, gz, or iso?
