Hi Renaud & David OK you can tell from my reply that I'm in no way a technical person but am an enthusiastic supporter and promoter of Ubuntu. Therefore, what I don't understand from your reply David is that in earlier releases of Ubuntu (10 series), when presumably there were individual modules that dealt with audio over HDMI my Dell Studio Hybrid systems worked fine. Now that these individual modules have been combined into one in Ubuntu (11 series) audio over HDMI just doesn't work. Surely this points to where the problem lies?
