Timo: If people can use later drivers than legacy then they should because the driver behaviour has changed. legacy will disable GLX when the COMPOSITE extension is on (and COMPOSITE is enabled by default since Edgy). See Bug #91064 for details on this. If people are seeing this and have an old card which can ONLY use the legacy driver it would be interesting to see how they ended up in this situation because if they enabled drivers via restricted-manager then this particular problem should be worked around.
