Ubuntu uses the Foomatic database from www.linuxprinting.org. If you can get your printer listed to www.linuxprinting.org it will automatically be included in the next Ubuntu release (edgy or edgy+1). You should fill out the new printer form: http://www.linuxprinting.org/edit_printer.cgi?newentry=1 to let the people at www.linuxprinting.org know that your printer works with the bjc800 driver.
