Public bug reported: It would be nice if the quicklist for "Check for Updates" was in the static quicklist for U-M.
Right now I have u-m on my launcher. If I want to quickly check for updates I can't just right click on the icon and check, I have to launch u-m first then right click to get the quicklist. But since I have to launch u-m anyway I can just click the button on the main UI, making the existing quicklist redundant. What I think should happen is this: Right click, check for updates, this launches something like "update- manager --check-only". If there are no updates, quit gracefully. If there are updates then launch u-m. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: New ** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/838202 Title: Quick list only shows up when u-m is running To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/838202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
