Public bug reported:

When installing Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 the keyboard layout hangs when
waiting too long before making a choice. It still is possible to select
another language in the left part of the sceen, but the right part of
the sceen options don't update anymore. Back button doesn't work either.
