It seems to be a regression that came with an update yesterday (Sep
7th). I'm testing oneiric on a fresh laptop install, so I do an apt-get
upgrade every few hours at the moment. First I thought I might have
broken it myself because I was fiddling with thinkpad_acpi and tpfanco
yesterday. Suddenly the KDE/plasma battery applet icon started showing a
red cross and saying "AC Adapter not plugged in". But reverting to my
previous settings didn't help and today I discovered this fresh bug.

BTW: acpi-nodes in /proc seem to be correct and deliver sane data.
