Public bug reported: I couldn't get git to push some changes to a secure server, and I found out that my problem was caused by the server timing out when asking for a passphrase to set up a secure connection. I had no notification that the server was asking for a passphrase in KDevelop because it wasn't being piped into the built-in terminal.
Installing SSH AskPass solved the problem. SSH AskPass should be a recommended package if the user requires git integration with KDevelop, so that users have a quick and painless experience with KDevelop with git. SSH AskPass is already in the ubuntu repos and is designed from KDE4. Here is the webpage for it just as FYI: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/show.php?content=50971 ** Affects: kdevelop (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/847549 Title: Recommend SSH AskPass To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdevelop/+bug/847549/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
