Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mplayer
An error produced by MPlayer after upgrading to Feisty Fawn: *** glibc detected *** mplayer: corrupted double-linked list: 0x08a57c08 *** ======= Backtrace: ========= /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6[0xb6bb6bbb] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6[0xb6bb850f] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(cfree+0x90)[0xb6bbbe30] mplayer(av_freep+0x17)[0x8653dc7] mplayer[0x8793940] /lib/ld-linux.so.2[0xb7f7a9ee] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(exit+0xe9)[0xb6b7d9d9] mplayer[0x80aadef] ======= Memory map: ======== 08048000-088ed000 r-xp 00000000 03:01 228341 /usr/bin/mplayer 088ed000-08956000 rw-p 008a5000 03:01 228341 /usr/bin/mplayer 08956000-08b29000 rw-p 08956000 00:00 0 [heap] b5d00000-b5d21000 rw-p b5d00000 00:00 0 b5d21000-b5e00000 ---p b5d21000 00:00 0 b5e77000-b5edc000 rw-p b5e77000 00:00 0 b5edc000-b5edf000 r-xp 00000000 03:01 12289 /usr/lib/libgpg-error.so.0.3.0 b5edf000-b5ee0000 rw-p 00002000 03:01 12289 /usr/lib/libgpg-error.so.0.3.0 b5ee0000-b5f2f000 r-xp 00000000 03:01 95738 /usr/lib/libgcrypt.so.11.2.2 <snip 20 more pages of this> After upgrading I get these "links list" crashes on a fairly regular basis, though it is random when they will appear, even doing the same mplayer command several times. My first thought with an error like this would be faulty hardware (RAM, CPU, etc.), but I did not ever get any of these errors prior to upgrading to Feisty Fawn with several different versions of MPlayer. I have tried compiling my own MPlayer .deb package from Subversion source code, but it crashes the same as the "apt-get install" version. I noticed that GLIBC was updated when going to Feisty Fawn, so presumably there is a bug in GLIBC, or else in the way MPlayer uses GLIBC, I'm not sure. I haven't seen this error from any other apps as of yet, though. ** Affects: mplayer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- MPlayer crashes with GLIBC error after upgrading to Feisty Fawn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112624 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
