I updated to 0.12.1 which supports the new gedit, but then it just fails
with

/usr/bin/valac-0.12 -g --vapidir .. --vapidir . --pkg glib-assert --pkg
afrodite-0.12 --pkg libvala-0.12 -C completion-manager.vala tests-basic.vala
error: Package `glib-assert' not found in specified Vala API directories or
GObject-Introspection GIR directories

We don't ship that vapi package, and neither does Debian. At this point
I don't want to waste more effort on this.

The current package is useless in oneiric as it doesn't work with GEdit
3. I suggest to just remove it.
