It seems this doesn't just happen when my session starts. Today, I was
working away, with the dash seemingly functioning as it should, and for
no reason I can think of, the dash stopped appearing, and the Nautilus
menu came up along the top when I showed the desktop. It's like Dash
just died, and Nautilus took over. Thought this might shed some clue as
to why this is happening.
