Actually the new indicators system support this feature, but it doesn't allow to define the indicators position to the users, since this is actually hardcoded into panel-service.c I would have loved to control this with a gsettings parameter to change the indicators position, but I had no feedback about that [1].
Dragging them via middle click could be an idea, but the problem is that then you could move them accidentally when using the secondary activation (i.e. the middle click) over an indicator. However I guess that if we manage correctly the dragging adding a timeout this could be avoided. However, while I think that there's no problem in adding "hidden" gsettings values to manage the indicators relative positions, I would need design feedback about managing their position via middle-click- mouse-drag. @om26er, I guess this is similar to bug #537947 [1] https://code.launchpad.net/~3v1n0/unity/indicators- redesign/+merge/70818 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/818788 Title: The sequence of the applets should be easily editable by the user.
