Before doing the apport-collect provided above I repeated the original experiments and verified that the reported behaviour is still found, and indeed it is, even after update of Lucid and kernels. Present versions:
Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.3 Kernel 2.6.38-11 Kernel 2.6.32-34 Sticks simply cannot be used with Kernel *.38 (stalls, connection losses, slow even under best circumstances), while with kernel *.32 the sticks can be used at nominal WLAN-G speeds (not WLAN N), but both sticks performing sub-par, slower than the internal WLAN-G adapter. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/730229 Title: Very poor performance of wlan-N adapter under kernel 2.6.38 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/730229/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
