Public bug reported:

All of my audio (mp3, video, stream, etc...) stutters in Feisty. I
upgraded from Edgy and the problem occured immediately after the upgrade
and persists. I've uninstalled and reinstalled alsa (1.0.13 and
1.0.14rc4), recompiled, reisntalled all my codecs and nothings seems to
change. I'm using an nvidia nforce 4 onboard sound card. It's the
intel 8x0/realtek chip and there were not problems with it in edgy.
Oddly enough ubuntu startup and shutdown wavs play just fine and do not
stutter. Also, youtube videos don't seem to stutter either. So my
guess is it has to do with some demuxing library or codec. But like
I've said I reinstalled all of them and haven't found a way to cut out
my stuttering audio. I might try a full reinstall/format but that's a
bit drastic to fix something that worked before the upgrade. any ideas?
