Hi!

It would seem that I have a similar problem with my LG M1 Express laptop. It
apparently uses the same audio chip as the P1.
The sound works fine except for the fact that the speakers are never heard no
matter what I do.

My laptop seems to be slightly different in configuration from the P1 express
mentioned above, since I have one audio out jack on the rear, one line
out/headphones + one mic input on the side and also an optical SPDIF output.
I have also tried most of the "model=xxx" settings with the snd-hda-intel that
seemed applicable, but without success.

There is actually a setting - "model=lg" - that according to the docs
should be for the LG M1 express, but it's for the ALC880-codec, and mine
seems to be an ALC883, of a model which Alsa does not recognize. Perhaps
LG has more than one hardware revision of the M1 laptop - if I recall
correctly, earlier versions were based on Intel Core CPUs, my M1 has a
Core 2 CPU.

I'm attaching a file containing the output of the various commands.

Thanks in advance, and please let me know if I can help you with some more
information or anything.
Best Regards,
Lars
