Public bug reported:

Configure scripts that used to use --print-multi-os-directory to find
.so files (e.g. GNU Smalltalk's) do not have an alternative way that
they can use with multiarch. -print-multiarch is in gcc 4.6, but not in
4.5.

Introduction of multiarch broke 20 years worth of conventions and was
done without bothering to contact upstream GCC, please mend the pieces
now.

** Affects: gcc-4.5 (Ubuntu)
