Now we are having 15 duplicates of this bug, yet not much idea what the problem is. As the crash seems to be related to KDE and skim, it may not be simply a scim bug.
There are three parts involved: skim, scim and (likely) scim-qtimm. Also Qt 3 in Ubuntu is patched to make scim-qtimm work. Any of these parts can be the source of this bug. i am not saying it's not scim's fault, but it's quite complicated and we need to figure out what the real problem is. For now all I can do is marking new bugs as a duplicate of this, and as it seems no other Ubuntu developer is subscribed to this bug, its chance of getting fixed is quite small. You can help by help analyzing this bug a bit more, and/or asking skim maintainers and KDE people to look at this bug. -- [apport] scim-launcher crashed with SIGSEGV in QTextCodec::fromUnicode() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
