Public bug reported:

I recently discovered that I could not update VMWare Player - the phase
of the uninstall that stops the existing services would hang and
eventually the whole system would require a power reset. System would
also hang on shutdown under normal operation.

Uninstalling cgroup-bin & libcgroup1 fixes both these issues.

I have set up cgroups on my 10.04 system as per:
http://www.webupd8.org/2010/11/alternative-to-200-lines-kernel-
patch.html and this seemed to be working fine until I discovered this
issue recently when the 2.6.32-34 kernel was made available.
