I still can't see any obvious errors within those extra logs.

I believe the problem is more likely to be with the graphics drivers
than the X server - the fact you can SSH in to it suggests the problem
is shallower though.

Also, Oneiric beta 2 is out which uses a newer kernel, so you might want
to try that if you haven't already.
