Public bug reported: i was running ubuntu 10.10, and it was good. a week ago i got a question: do you wont to upgrade to 11.04. i answered yes upgrade run ok, then i was asked, if i would like to restart, i answered yes, and after this when starting my computer i am getting usual choice of starting linux, starting linux recovery mode, starting previous version, memory check. after choosing starting unix i am getting blinking cursor, and i can type any commands i am not getting and pressing enter i am not getting any result and cursor remains in the top left corner of the screen if choosing recovery mode and insering installation cd i am getting a lot of linux statemwnts and in the end 35.366409] addrconf(netdev_up): wlan0: link is not ready - and probably it expects me to enter something, but i have no idea what. my computer is toshiba satellite p100.
in one of the helps i get information, that i can recover the system by using installation cd, it will ask me if i would like to install or recover. i had only installation cd for 10.10 and tried it it started and asked if i would like to install. so i decided to download 11.04 and create installation cd. when i put it in my cd drive i got only whole bunch of linux statements. sorry i was working on unix 10 years ago, but never used linux. i just started using it less then month ago, so for me all these statements not giving me any help. i created 11.04 installation cd on 2 different computers - result was the same. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/860888 Title: system is not starting at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/860888/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
