Also have this bug. Sound was working fine with Natty. After an upgrade
to Oneiric (month ago) it was also working. As of today sound stopped
working. I have:
ii alsa-base 1.0.24+dfsg-0ubuntu2
ALSA driver configuration files
ii alsa-utils 1.0.24.2-0ubuntu7
Utilities for configuring and using ALSA
% uname -a
