Public bug reported:

Ubuntu oneiric (development branch)

hplip:
  Installed: 3.11.7-1ubuntu3
  Candidate: 3.11.7-1ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 3.11.7-1ubuntu3 0
        500 http://ubuntu.mirror.iweb.ca/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Printing works with no issues.

Network scanner is detected by "hp-probe -escan", but is not visible in
Simple Scan or XSane

Starting HP-GUI and hp-setup causes high CPU usage, lots of drive access
which forces me to force a shutdown (power button) or kill the X server
to logout (ctrl+alt+backspace).
