python-support is a dependency required by python-smartpm:
andreas@nsn2:~$ dpkg -s python-smartpm|grep python-support
Depends: python (<< 2.7), python (>= 2.6), python-support (>= 0.90.0),
python2.6, libc6 (>= 2.4), python-pycurl, python-pexpect
If you don't have python-support installed, something else might be
broken. Can you try to run apt-get -f install and see what it does?
