This is still not fixed in Ubuntu 11.10 with the 3.0 kernel, pretty disapointing that with a bug both reported upstream and downstream by many people and affecting basic funcitionnality of commonly available harware for end-users, nobody seems interested in fixing that bug. Let's hope the workaround tuxsage provided to the community still applies to 3.0 kernels...
