To be clear, proxy support for Ubuntu One has not yet landed, and therefore if you're seeing things work in the newly released 11.10 then it's a lucky coincidence. However, proxy support is the first task for the Ubuntu One desktop team on both Ubuntu and Windows; it's the first thing we're working on in this new cycle.
